Let's get real. Like, really real. No chest thumping or internet tough-guy stuff. There are certain cars in the world that you, I, and millions of others are simply not gonna get to drive. Barring a winning lotto ticket, an extremely benevolent and wealthy friend, or an unbelievable career or criminal opportunity, you will probably die before you ever get to drive certain cars.

Which car is that for you? And how do you deal with forever longing for that which you know you cannot and will not ever legitimately attain, even for a moment?

I'm actually pretty good knowing that fact. I've got my Willys and that fulfills my ridiculous vehicle needs.

Lucky for me I've driven such a wide variety of cars I don't have the want as bad as others.

One place I worked at graced me, the shortest in the shop, to drive ANY and ALL sports cars in and out of the shop.

But if I had to chose one car to drive by any means necessary it would have to be a Ute, like the Maloo or whatever. I don't know why, but I like them for some reason. And I deal with it by trying not to think about it haha

How do I deal with it? I never give up hoping that any one of the things you mentioned happens and working on how to increase my chances of being in such a situation in which this could happen

I got a question for you: You're walking out of wherever your going after doing your personal doings there and...there it is.

Sitting there. Idling. No one's around, but anyone can jump in and just drive off. This is your only chance to drive a genuine F1 car. Do you steal it?

An F1 car for reals is somewhere around ~$30-50 Million dollars, so when you get caught it's definitely grand larceny and maybe federal charges too. Either way, lots of years for stealing one of Mr. Ecclestone's prized vehicles.

Or death. You could just drive at top speed into something nice and solid. So, you get your chance in an F1 car at the cost of death or many many years in prison. Do you do it?

Nowadays that would be either the MP4-12C or P1. I really love those new McLarens so much, and having seen the 12C in person is just amazing enough really. It's like many things in life, I won't ever be famous, I won't be written down in history books, etc.

I might be for some strike of luck that leads me on a great path, but the odds are against that. So, you just deal.

Yes, I would - and I would probably stall the thing.

Preferred solutions:

1) Steal it

2) Drive into back of a semi truck

3) Drive semi truck to my evil lair

4) Drive around the lairs race track till I run into a wall- or run out of spare parts

The correct software to manage the car would be hard to get, so the other option is to steal the car while it is in transit.

That's an awesome choice. Given the global state of space exploration, not even oil tycoons and wall street barons could realize this dream, and only a tiny fraction of a handful of humans ever have.

The same way I deal with the billion other things I know I wont be able to do in my life. try to make it work within reason, don't bother freaking out if it never happens.

The xj220 is on the list BTW. always has been.

Just seeing on board clips and the over all rawness of the 787b make it quite high on my list of cars I want to drive. But alas, the closest I'm going to ever get to one is Forza 4. Also, this obviously:

On the topic of Mazdas, Mad Mikes RX7 is the most lust worthy drift car I've ever seen. Badass doesn't even begin to describe it.

Finally, the Ferrari Enzo. The F1 of the 2000s.

Probably could, I've seen them moved for display but I've never seen one taken to their track. They are rotary.

I have a huge list of all the cars I lust after, which can be re-arranged any which way in Excel; including by level of desire. I pretty much just pretend that it will eventually happen, and I day dream about which cars I would take given x amount of garage space. IT WILL HAPPEN! You get real, i'll be here in lala land which is filled with F40's Mclaren's, and lots of other toys.

Hmm. Your post photo is a pretty obvious one. Pretty high on my list, although a Jaguar C-Type or D-Type, or Aston Martin DB5, are all certainly beyond reach as well.

That said, even my less-rare and more-reasonable dream cars, a Jaguar E-Type Roadster, or an Aston Martin Vanquish V12, are ridiculously rare and/or expensive, and so the chance of driving either is pretty small, albeit imaginable at least. Considering I'm not rich and not anticipating being so anytime in the next few decades, I'm not holding my breath for either of those...
